This service was developed based upon feedback that some individuals are looking for a companion to engage them in life enriching activities (i.e., read for them, play a board game or cards, go for a drive, etc.)  Companions will provide that one-on-one socialization during each visit.  They will also offer an escort service so people can get out and about in the community.  

How does this differ from Homemaker Companion?  While the homemaker companion is busy doing duties such as laundry, meal preparation, and light housekeeping, the new Companion service is designed to solely focus on the social needs of each client.
