I was born in Appleton at St Elizabeth hospital. My parents were married, and then we moved to Green Lake for several years before settling down in Winneconne. I am the oldest and my younger brother Eli,  is now 20 years old.

Growing up we traveled a lot over spring breaks and during the summer.  Our destination was different states, usually the east coast and south where it is warmer.  We would camp with our RV so our dog could join us.  We even built steps for her to easily get into the RV as she aged and needed more help.  Our family was a little zoo with four cats and a dog. Mom still has three of the four cats living with her.

In high school I was involved in power lifting. I was the state champ and placed 4th in Nationals.  My senior year of high school I decided to give it up so I could focus on my AP classes and work. Knowing I wanted to go into nursing, I started working my senior year of high school at Valley VNA as a resident assistant.  I graduated from Winneconne High School and then attended Marian University.

I was President of my sorority, Theta Phi Alpha. We traveled to different conventions in different states with the sorority. And in 2017 I traveled abroad for 2 weeks to Ireland with thirty other students.  I was able to complete the semester work prior to going so we could focus on the tours, museums, and culture.

Recently I graduated with my bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marian University. I accepted a registered nurse position at Parkview Health Center in Oshkosh starting on Monday, July 16th. After six years at Valley VNA I will say goodbye to my coworkers and residents.   I’ve made lots of friendships with staff and residents and will sadly miss everyone.

My passion is hospice care. Going through the experience with my grandpa and with residents and families at the Valley VNA I knew I wanted this to be my future. Marian University has a graduate program I will be starting part-time. I believe it’s important people know they have somebody with them during their journey on hospice.
